Binge boiling

My whole family emailed me this article that was in the NY Times about drinking at the University of Wisconsin. Lucky for me I was too busy "studying" at the UW to get obnoxiously drunk and picked up by the police, then to have the Dean of students call my parents.
So today, in true Wisconsin Badger form, I found the one German butcher shop in Mongolia and bought some brats. Since I don't have a grill, I did something that would make any Midwesterner proud (especially my dad) I beer boiled my brats. My local "xync" didn't have any Chingis beer, so I settled for a few cans of Tiger (It's like the Mongolian Miller). You can take the girl outta Wisconsin, but you can't take the Wisconsin outta the girl, eh?

Next thing you know you'll be beer-battering some taimen for a Friday night fishfry!

And the Packers won last weekend! Should make Bill twice as happy.

Shit, who told you about the taimen fish fry? We had a snow leopard appetizer and gazelle ice-cream, too :)

What about veggie brats? Not exactly Midwestern but healthy and tasty. An added bonus is that you'd be able to entertain all your Mongolian vegetarian friends too.

That looks disgusting.

I think it's really funny that of ALL the interesting things I've posted on this blog, beer boiled brats gets the most responses.
In response to AAT: I AM in Mongolia, veggie brats are a thing of the past.
In response to Captain Morgan: Your state weeps at your comment. What a very un-Sconnie thing to say! I think I should email The Wisconsin Guys!

Annie,

this is the kind of blog posting that former potential employers LOVE to read....

just before hiring someone else.

Let it be known that the brats are boiled in beer. It has nothing to do with actual alcohol consumption. Hopefully I'll work for a red blooded Midwestern who understands the need to beer boil brats :)
